Grey’s Anatomy Season 20: Will Kim Raver return as Teddy Altman?
Teddy Altman’s life was left on the line in the Grey’s Anatomy Season 19 finale. Will Kim Raver be back in Grey’s Anatomy Season 20?
A lot happened for Teddy Altman during Grey’s Anatomy Season 19. With the position of Chief of Surgery open (again!), she decided to push for it. At one point, it looked like a race between Teddy and Amelia, but it turned out that Amelia was just there to make sure Teddy would push for the job. Amelia never wanted it.
Teddy proved herself to be a great chief in the short space of time we saw her. However, will the hospital end up looking for someone to replace her? The last we saw her, she collapsed while performing surgery in the OR. All that came from her complaints of a toothache throughout the finale.
Kim Raver is back in Grey’s Anatomy Season 20
The finale was a little anticlimactic when you consider that news broke ahead of it to say that the series regulars were coming back. That included Kim Raver. So, it’s clear that Teddy Altman is going to survive after collapsing and needing CPR in the OR.
We’ll likely see her return as Chief too. There isn’t really anyone to replace her, and she hasn’t been in the job long enough to see how she really does under pressure. She’s shown an interest in making the residency program better, and now she needs time to put some plans into motion.
There’s also the aspect of her relationship with Owen. After some difficult times, the two seem to be back on track with their marriage and their parenting relationship. They got over some major hurdles, including Teddy’s affair and Owen being suspended as a surgeon for a while. Now it’s time to see the two move forward and become another power couple—much like Bailey and Warren—on the series.
